It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to MOC¡¦10, the Sixteenth International Conference on Microoptics which will be held from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3, 2010 and to beautiful, sunny Taiwan. This year, the Microoptics conference will be held in the world famous high-tech city of Hsinchu, the Silicon Valley of Taiwan and will be organized by National Chiao Tung University.
The first Microoptics Conference (MOC) was held in Japan in 1987 and was a biannual conference organized and sponsored by the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) and Optical Society of Japan (OSJ). Since 2004, MOC has started to extend into international arena on even-numbered years, Germany in 2004, South Korea in 2006, and Belgium in 2008. This year, the 2010 16th MOC will be held in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Thus far the MOC has become one of the premier international conferences on Microoptics with wide range of topics covering both scientific aspects and applications related to optics and photonics.
The MOC¡¦10 has been co-sponsored and endorsed by OSA and IEEE/Photonics Society. The MOC¡¦10 is also the participant of the ¡§Laserfest¡¨ that celebrating the 50th anniversary of the invention of laser. For this particular occasion we have specially invited Prof. Theoder W. H?nsch, 2005 Nobel laureate in physics to be our MOC¡¦10 keynote speaker.
In addition to our honorable keynote speaker and a list of world-known invited speakers from various fields and a planned wide scope of technical program for MOC¡¦10, all our participants can also sight see gorgeous scenery and enjoy diverse food culture in Taiwan. The island of Taiwan offers sunny beaches, richly forested mountains, relaxing countryside. There are also many oriental historical temples and monuments, luxuriant hot springs across the whole island to visit during your stay.
I hope you all can have an unforgettable experience in Taiwan and I am looking forward to welcoming you in MOC¡¦10 at Taiwan.
Best Regards
